How Blue Bird Participates in Earth Day

April 23, 2019by cowest

As Earth Day was yesterday, and the topic of our earth and the environment are now more prevalent than ever before, there is one major topic that always gets brought up as a concern; vehicle emissions.

It is estimated today that around 450,000 school buses are used every day in the United States to transport over 24 million children to school. That is a lot of emission pollution being put into the air every day, and some may be asking how can that be resolved?

Blue Bird and their partner Roush Cleantech for over six years now, are in the 4th generation of production of the Blue Bird propane powered Vision. Blue Bird and the partnership with Roush is a very important key to why we now have over 15,000 propane powered units on the road in the United States today!

Why Propane? Why Blue Bird? Well, Blue Bird is the only bus manufacturer that utilizes the Ford 6.8L v10 engine partnered with the Roush Cleantech fuel system, which is certified to meet the low NOx level of 0.05 g/bhp-hr, which makes it 75% cleaner than the EPA’s current emission standards. Blue Bird also meets the optional ultra-low NOx lever or 0.02 g/bhp-hr providing you with the option to be even cleaner!

Focusing on our Nebraska location specifically, this year at Nebraska/Central Equipment, Inc. over 45% of our sales in the calendar year of 2019 have been propane powered. That means cleaner air that school students in Nebraska are breathing in at bus stops and cleaner air for the future of the state of Nebraska.

Here at Colorado/West Equipment, Inc. and Nebraska/Central Equipment, Inc. we are making strides to be a company that provides a cleaner and safer product to our patrons and the residents of our beautiful states!

If you have questions about how you can incorporate cleaner products in your area, please contact Colorado/West Equipment, Inc or Nebraska/Central Equipment, Inc.

Happy Earth Day!
