Create A Positive Environment and Passenger Experience
At Colorado West Equipment, we not only care about the quality of our buses for sale but the passengers’ comfort and safety as well. That is why we have brought you some essential behaviors that will encourage a positive environment and passenger experience.
Bus Passenger Etiquette
Share the Ride
The common courtesy of giving up a seat for a senior or holding the door for a fellow passenger doesn’t have to be an old-fashioned behavior. Be considerate and move to the back to make room if the bus is crowded with a standing load. This will generate more space and create a comfortable ride.
Be Careful with Your Baggage
Be careful to not harm other passengers with your bag. When boarding and debarking the bus, keep your bag close to you. Also, place the bags on the lap and under the seat.
Keep the Music for You
When you are using an audio device like an iPod or smartphone, wear earphones and adjust the volume accordingly to avoid disturbing other fellow passengers.
Avoid Speaking Out Loud
If you need to make a call while traveling on board, keep the conversation to a low volume and a minimum out of respect for others.
Bus Travel Safety Tips
Boarding & Disembarking
Never run for a bus: wait until the next bus arrives to avoid a severe accident. If a driver sees you attempting to get to your stop and can stop safely, they will. Buses will only stop at assigned bus stops.
- Be careful that bags, backpacks, purse straps, or coats do not get trapped in the doors as you get on or off the vehicle.
- Have your fare payment ready upon boarding: exact change is required for cash payment.
- Avoid walking directly behind or in front of the vehicle: the bus driver or other drivers may not see you.
While You Are on the Bus
- Keep the aisle free of tripping hazards such as backpacks and bags.
- In case the bus driver has to brake suddenly, hold on to the grab rails.
- For everyone’s safety, stand behind the yellow line for the driver to have an unobstructed view of the mirrors and the doorway.
- Always wear shoes for your safety
- Ideally, sit where you can see your upcoming stop.
