The reopening announcement for the ALT Fuels Colorado program is here. As we have discussed previously, the penalty money from the VW Emissions Scandal is allocated to projects to reduce NOx from heavy duty diesel sources across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. However, in Colorado funds have been allocated differently, toward zero emission vehicles, specifically Electric and CNG, fueled with 100% RNG (Renewable Natural Gas). Our partnership with Blue Bird allows us to provide local school districts with Certified Electric and CNG School Buses available here in Colorado.
The application opens today, Monday, November 2, 2020 and closes Thursday, December 31, 2020. Visit the ALT Fuels Colorado webpage for information on the following:
- Program Materials – Application guide, Pre-Application Checklist, and Funding Calculator
- How to apply- all applications must be submitted electronically during the application round using the link on the ALT Fuels Colorado webpage.
The link for applications will be available from November 2- December 31. These funds are available to all public, private, and non-profit fleets statewide.
As a pioneer and leader in alternative fuel vehicles, Blue Bird was first to market Electric School Buses in 1994. We offer an Electric Bus for every application: Blue Bird Vision, All American RE, and Micro Bird G5 Electric.
