Types of Automatic Door Systems for A Bus
Glider Door
A glider door is ideal for smaller buses and it is a type of automatic door. It works for apertures up to 750 mm wide, but it can fit into apertures up to one meter wide due to its large actuator and heavy shaft. It does not push forward when the driver opens it and those designing the bus can shape it to ensure that it and the profile body side are flush. It will not interfere with the front rim or windscreen of the bus either.
Sliding Plug Door
Another type of automatic door system that is designed for a low-floor bus. It consists of both electrical systems and mechanical systems. Sliding plug doors include the door shaft, door operator, and door panels. The operator component is comprised of the plugging, guiding, unlocking, driving, hanging, and locking.
Swing Plug Door
This type of door is automatic and features a door striker, remote auxiliary lock, and catch and manual release for utilizing on light- to medium-duty shuttles or utility vehicles. It is comprised of a base plate assembly, arm assembly, door operator, and shaft assembly.
