Hi Caleb! This is Justyne, the head of Marketing for Blue Bird. I appreciate this article and I think it’s wonderful! One thing I want to clarify regarding this statement: “Factor in its improved fuel economy over the 6.8-liter and Blue Bird says it has the potential of saving $3,700 per bus over the course of their operating lives.” The 6.8L engines actually do help customers save an average of $3,700 per bus, per year, over a typical diesel bus, not in comparison to the new 7.3L engine, which may actually help save them save a little more due to engine updates.
