In April we mark the celebration of Earth Day. As Earth Day approaches, we will focus this next series on the many alternative fuel school buses we offer, beginning with Gasoline.
Safe For Our Environment
Gasoline as an alternative fuel may not seem the obvious choice with nearly 80% of all vehicles in North America running on gasoline. Our Vision Gasoline buses are built to add savings from the start as they do not require large amounts of additional parts to run clean and produce only 0.08 NOx (nitrogen oxide) of emissions, making it safer for the environment. Safe For Our Children
Ensuring the safety of children on a school bus is always our priority. Gasoline safety is no exception; our in-tank fuel pump is electronically controlled to deliver only the amount of fuel required by the engine; no fuel is returned from the engine to the fuel storage tank. The fuel lines are isolated from static electricity and made from a low vapor permeable material to comply with Environmental Protection Agency emissions standards. Our gasoline fuel system has been tested to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for fuel system integrity, as with all liquid fueled Blue Bird Buses.
